This Monday's TEFL Prague tip is...
10% is the magic number when it comes to tipping in restaurants, tipping after a taxi ride, or tipping a porter at a (nice) hotel. Czechs don't really tip for other occasions (such as in a bar). If you are unsure of the amount which you should tip then simply round up the amount; meaning if the bill for example came to 86 CZK then, and only if you were happy with the service, you should feel comfortable handing over either 90 CZK or 100 CZK. In tourist spots some restaurants might have already added a service charge, in which case there is no need to tip - no matter how much the waiter or waitress may frown at you for not doing so.
Hope it helps!
Hezky den!/Lovely day!
Neville :-)
