This week's photo is of one of the many buildings in the center of Prague which still boast a remnant from the past; in the past buildings were not numbered but instead denoted by a symbol. For example, the house in the photo would simply be named the Golden Snake and if there was a restaurant either in or close to the building then there would have been a good chance that the restaurant would have been called either the Restaurant at the Golden Snake or the Restaurant by the Golden Snake. Next time you are in the center try taking a look up from the cobbled streets and mesmerizing shop front windows and you will see many examples of these building symbols.
